Doraemon: The Revenge of Giga Zombie is a turn based JRPG released only in Japan and translated for an English speaking audience by Wakdhacks. Having been based on the popular anime of the same name, Doraemon features many characters and locations from it’s source material. Players can choose and name a generic Hero or Heroine upon starting a new game and will gather a party of popular protagonists from the series as the game progresses. The max party size is four and many of the characters will eventually leave after joining. DtRoGZ features a number of weapons and spells that can be equipped on any character as well as consumable weapons and healing items. Magic is handled somewhat differently in this title: a character need only hold a spell in his or her inventory to cast it and spells draw upon the player’s gold reserves, rather than magic points. Experience points, random battles and boss fights are all standard RPG fare featured in this title.

Wizards & Warriors II: Ironsword is a platforming video game where the player controls the best warrior in the land, Kuros, as he explores the land of Sindarin to defeat the evil wizard Malkil. This time, Malkil has taken the form of the four ''Elementals'', based on the Greek classical elements Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water to stop Kuros in his quest. The objective is to assemble the legendary ''IronSword'', the only weapon that can defeat Malkil, and defeat the evil wizard who lies at the peak of IceFire Mountain. In the game, players can move Kuros left or right, or make him crouch with the control pad; the buttons allow Kuros to jump, to use his sword or a magic spell to defeat enemies, to access the ''Magic Spell Screen'', or to pause the game. Kuros has a life meter which decreases every time he sustains damage from an enemy or a dangerous projectile, or if he falls for too long a distance. Along the way, players can collect chicken and brew to replenish Kuros' life meter. Kuros loses a life when his life meter runs out, and the game ends when he loses all his lives. However, players may continue and restart the game where they left off up to two times; players may not continue the game after completing the Earth domain.
Wizards & Warriors is a platforming video game developed by UK-based company Rare for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was published by Acclaim and released in North America in December 1987 and in Europe on January 7, 1990. It was also released in Japan by Jaleco on July 15, 1988 under the title Densetsu no Kishi Elrond (?). In the game, players control Kuros, the ''Knight Warrior of the Books of Excalibur'', as he sets out in the Kingdom of Elrond to defeat the evil wizard Malkil, who holds the princess captive in Castle IronSpire, located deep within Elrond's forests. During the game, players make their way through forests, tunnels, and caves, battling hordes of enemies and collecting treasure, magical items, and additional weaponry to get past the obstacles and hazards that lie in their path. It was Rare's second game released for the NES, after Slalom.
Wizards & Warriors pits the story's hero Kuros, the ''Knight Warrior of the Books of Excalibur'', against the main antagonist, the evil wizard Malkil. He was considered one of the greatest wizards in the land, such that Merlin was one of his students. However, the aging Malkil has gone mad and has started using his magic for evil. As a result, Malkil has captured the princess and holds her prisoner in Castle IronSpire, deep within the forests of Elrond. The game's protagonist, the brave knight Kuros, is summoned to venture through the forests of Elrond. He is armed with the legendary Brightsword, a sword that is powerful enough to beat demons, insects, undead, and the other creatures which have fallen under Malkil's spell. With the sword, he ventures out through the forests of Elrond and the various caves and underground tunnels and to Castle IronSpire, where he must defeat Malkil and rescue the princess.
